Doocy Asks Karoline Leavitt What Happened To Epstein Client List Pam Bondi Claimed She Had ‘On Her Desk’

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday why the Department of Justice (DOJ) has changed its tune on the existence of a “client list” belonging to sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The DOJ and the FBI’s “systematic review” found no evidence that Epstein blackmailed powerful figures or that had not taken his own life in 2019, which contradicted Attorney General Pam Bondi’s claim since February that she had personally reviewed the list at the direction of President Donald Trump. Leavitt said that Bondi referred to the “entirety” of the paperwork related to Epstein’s crimes and other investigations, not the so-called “client list” itself.

“So, the FBI looks at the circumstances surrounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein,” Doocy began. “According to the report, ‘this systematic review revealed no incriminating client list.’ So what happened to the Epstein client list that the attorney general said she had on her desk?”

“Well, I think if you go back to what the attorney general said in that interview, which was on your network, Fox News … [Bondi] said the entirety of the paperwork, all of the paper in relation to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. That’s what the attorney general was referring to, and I’ll let her speak for that. But again, when it comes to the FBI and the Department of Justice, they are more than committed that bad people are put behind bars, where they belong. They promised an exhaustive review, that’s what they did,” Leavitt said.

When Fox News host John Roberts asked about the release of a so-called “client list,” Bondi said on “America Reports” during a Feb. 21 interview that a pile of paperwork related to the Epstein investigation was “sitting on her desk” for review.

“One of things that you alluded to, and this is something Donald Trump has talked about, the DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients? Will that really happen?” Roberts asked.

“It is sitting on my desk right now to review. That’s been a directive by President Trump, I’m reviewing that. I’m reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That’s all in the process of being reviewed because that was done at the directive of President Trump for all of these agencies,” Bondi said.

The DOJ and FBI’s memo said their review found “no incriminating ‘client list’ possessed by Epstein.

“This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.’ There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions,” the memo says.

The DOJ also released over ten hours of footage from outside Epstein’s cell to dispute long-lasting speculations that he did not kill himself. The FBI further conducted extensive physical and digital searches, uncovering more than 300 gigabytes of data and related physical evidence.

Epstein was under psychological evaluation at the time after he had attempted to commit suicide on July 23, 2019, according to a CNN timeline of Epstein’s death. On the night of his death, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, the two correctional officers on duty, did not perform the required 12 a.m., 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. counts and completed a form falsely saying that they did.

Dr. Michael Baden, a forensic pathologist hired by Epstein’s brother, told “Fox & Friends” in October 2019 that Epstein’s autopsy was more consistent with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging. The 66-year-old had two fractures on the left and right sides of his larynx and a fracture on the left hyoid bone above the Adam’s apple.

Recorded evidence was only available from one camera due to a malfunction at the prison, causing recordings to be made for only about half of the cameras, according to a DOJ Inspector General’s report.

A DOJ spokesperson clarified to the Daily Caller News Foundation that Bondi did not refer to a “client list,” but to the totality of the Epstein investigation.
